The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) is organizing a series of tours to introduce the modern technologies used in preserving, digitizing, and displaying Egyptian heritage, within the framework of the Digital Egypt Builders Initiative (DEBI).
The tours are organized in collaboration with the Bibliotheca Alexandrina’s Center for Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage (CULTNAT) and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. They target students of the Faculties of Engineering, and Computers and Information at different national universities.
The activity is in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030, one of the objectives of which is advancing education to build the Egyptian citizen and help preserve the national identity.
The tours are organized at CULTNAT premises in Smart Village throughout March to accommodate the largest possible number of DEBI participants.
DEBI was launched by MCIT in 2020 as a free scholarship aimed at preparing skilled professionals in advanced technologies and developing the youth’s innovative capacities. The initiative targets training 1,000 university students majoring in engineering and computer science, annually, in a variety of tracks including data science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, robotics, automation and digital arts.
