MCIT Organizes Digital Community Development Activities in Aswan



The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has organized several training activities and awareness sessions, in collaboration with Aswan University. The aim was to facilitate access to IT and make optimal utilization of instructional design and graphics in teaching and education.
 
The sessions were attended by about 600 students from different faculties at Aswan University.
 
The training activities were organized within the framework of the part on e-learning in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between MCIT and Aswan Governorate for achieving community development for citizens in Aswan, using ICT.
 
The E-Learning Competence Center (ELCC) carried out the training over five days. Fifty educators were trained on the fundamentals of e-learning, instructional design, and Storyline, and to use IT tools in distance education, at the headquarters of the Directorate of Education in Aswan.
 
Moreover, MCIT held awareness sessions under the theme "E-learning: opportunities and challenges" to promote e-learning among students at Aswan University. Other sessions were organized under the title "Digital Citizenship, Cyber Security and Information Protection."
 
The Ministry, also, held a session on the Hudhud app, the smart assistant to the Egyptian farmer. Hudhud is the first Artificial Intelligence (AI)- powered mobile application launched with the aim of facilitating communication between the Ministry of Agriculture and farmers on the one hand, and with geographically separated farmers on the other, and providing digital guidance on topics of interest to farmers and supporting them. More than 65 representatives of the Directorate of Agriculture, agricultural engineers, agricultural extension agents, and farmers from Aswan Governorate attended the session.
 
Furthermore, Aswan University held a meeting with the members of the committee responsible for implementing the cooperation protocol, from Aswan and MCIT. The meeting discussed how to overcome the potential hurdles impeding the implementation of the protocol, and future activities within the education clause. The aim was to enhance cooperation and continue organizing digital community development activities efficiently and effectively.
