ITI Offers Freelancing Training within ‘Freelancing, Remote Work Initiative’

The Information Technology Institute (ITI) is offering new training courses in freelancing as part of Freelancing and Remote Work Initiative.

The courses cover topics including freelancing basics, and how one can get started as a freelancer on Arab and foreign freelancing platforms such as Upwork, Mostaql and Khamsat.

The training is provided through Mahara-Tech. It introduces non-traditional forms of employment, online freelancing, how to earn in USD and tips to get paid on freelancing platforms. The training also provides an introduction of those platforms in Arabic and sign language. Trainees learn how to improve their profiles, land suitable jobs, get paid, and transfer earnings to their bank accounts.

Freelancing and Remote Work Initiative was launched by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) through ITI. The Initiative is aimed at equipping young people with freelancing and remote work skills, and make available good-paying job opportunities. The initiative is implemented in collaboration with several freelancing platforms, helping build the youth’s capabilities and develop their freelancing skills.
