MCIT Holds Training Program for Heads, Employees of DX Units in Governorates

The Digital Transformation Academy of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has held a week-long specialized and intensive training program for heads and employees at the information systems and digital transformation units in governorates, in cooperation with the Local Development Center in Sakkara.

The training program was within the framework of strengthening the digital transformation system in governorates as one of the key pillars for developing the local work system, aiming to develop performance at local units and improve the services provided to citizens. In addition, the program was organized in line with the objectives of "Digital Egypt" strategy and the efforts made to reinforce institutional development and digital transformation in governorates.

The program was part of the activities organized under Digital Transformation Academy, which provides continuous technical support to heads and employees at those units to build their digital capabilities. The Academy is aimed at optimizing local units and raising the efficiency of work systems in the new digital environment, thus serving citizens and increasing their satisfaction.

The training program included interactive workshops on digital transformation technologies, the units’ work systems, and work development mechanisms. The workshops were aimed at achieving operational excellence, combating corruption, and ensuring the sustainability of digital transformation in governorates. The program also covered important topics such as cybersecurity and digital project management.

The program was joined by 60 heads and employees at information systems and digital transformation units, information centers, e-portals of governorates’ general bureaus, towns, districts, and sub-districts, in 17 governorates: Menoufia, Marsa Matruh, Sohag, Damietta, Assiut, Aswan, Dakahlia, Giza, Kafr El-Sheikh, Qena, Alexandria, Luxor, Fayoum, Beheira, Gharbia, Qalyubia and Beni Suef.

During the workshops, the participants engaged in discussions on the work systems of the units in the governorates participating in the program. Participants reviewed numerous challenges and problems and made suggestions to develop the work system to help achieve operational excellence at the units.

It is worth noting that MCIT is adopting a plan to provide technical support to the information systems and digital transformation units in ministries, government agencies and governorates. The plan includes building an operational structure for the units and carrying out programs, workshops, and sessions to train personnel. This is in addition to organizing activities as part of the Digital Transformation Academy and preparing a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual for the units.

Additionally, MCIT provides the necessary technical support to create a successful work system at the units, while maintaining effective communication with heads and employees.
