The Central Department for Digital Community Development at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) is training two new batches of female entrepreneurs on social media marketing skills, on May 10-23, as part of the Qodwa-Tech initiative for empowering women.
The batches include 100 craftswomen. The training is carried out online, for free, targeting early-stage women entrepreneurs and small-scale business-owners nationwide. The aim is to equip trainees with digital marketing tools and skills to help them promote their projects on social media.
The training covers several topics, including an introduction to the fundamentals of marketing; how to prepare a digital marketing plan efficiently and effectively; how to find target audience through advertising and marketing campaigns; and the basic tools of social media marketing. In addition, the program offers support and consultation on marketing plans.
MCIT, through Qodwa-Tech, seeks to raise awareness of the significance of using IT tools and applications and to make the most of those applications in marketing handicraft products online. The aim is to preserve traditional and heritage crafts and cater to the needs of craftswomen in different governorates, especially in remote and underprivileged communities, helping empower women economically and socially. Accordingly, this will help achieve financial inclusion and digital transformation through equal opportunities, and it will contribute to attaining Egypt’s Vision 2030, involving driving an inclusive economic growth.
