Egypt to Host International Bebras Task Workshop 2023

Egypt has been selected as the host country for International Bebras Task Workshop 2023, which will be organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) in collaboration with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT).

The International Bebras challenge is an initiative aimed at promoting informatics- computer science, or computing- and computational thinking among school students at all ages. A large number of students from more than 60 countries participate in the challenge to solve problems designed by top-notch experts.

Egypt was one of the first countries to participate in the global challenge organized in 2004 at Vilnius University, Lithuania.

On the national level, MCIT and AASTMT co-organize Beaver Egypt Challenge, a competition that aims to encourage school students to learn computer science. Beaver Egypt is the official and sole qualifying competition for the Egyptian Olympiad in Informatics (EOI).

Around 4,000 students apply for Beaver Egypt Challenge annually. Top students are selected to participate in the training organized by MCIT and AASTMT and delivered by professional trainers. Students are trained and qualified to participate and represent Egypt in many international competitions.
