The Digital Transformation Academy of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has organized a workshop on cybersecurity for government agencies for 87 heads and employees at the information systems and digital transformation units in the ministries and government entities relocating to the New Administrative Capital.
The workshop introduced the significance of cybersecurity and the most prominent cybersecurity incidents that faced government agencies in the world over the past ten years. It also discussed the requirements and rules for achieving cybersecurity in government agencies, the technological principles for dealing with IT systems and Operational Technology (OT) and the rules for their safe use in the agencies. This is in addition to reviewing the cyber risk management plan in government agencies and how to deal with these risks in light of regional and international experiences to achieve a safe interactive work environment.
The workshop is one in a series of activities, organized within the framework of Digital Transformation Academy, aiming to provide continuous technical support to heads and employees at the information systems and digital transformation units in the state administrative apparatus, with a special focus on the entities moving to the New Administrative Capital.
The Academy organizes activities for heads and employees at those units, in cooperation with national and international officials and experts in the ICT sector, to build their digital capacities in the areas of work of the units to ensure sustainability of Digital Egypt projects.
The Academy has held a series of interactive sessions and workshops on digital transformation technologies and Digital Egypt work systems, along with capacity-building programs, targeting employees at the state administrative apparatus and the entities moving to the New Administrative Capital.
It is worth noting that MCIT is adopting a comprehensive plan to provide technical support to the information systems and digital transformation units in ministries, public entities and governorates. The plan includes building an operational structure for the units and carrying out programs, workshops, and sessions to train heads and employees. This is in addition to organizing activities as part of Digital Transformation Academy and preparing a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual for the units.
The Academy has trained most heads and employees moving to the New Administrative Capital on the knowledge, culture, and digital skills necessary to adapt to the work environment in the New Administrative Capital, delivering 52,445 certificates. In addition, specialized capacity-building programs have been organized for heads and employees at the units, where 7,136 certificates were handed out.
