A webinar titled “Role of women entrepreneurs in climate change adaptation" has been organized within the framework of promoting a green economy among female entrepreneurs, as part of the Qodwa-Tech initiative for empowering women.
The session provided an introduction to climate change as a critical global issue. It explained the different signs, repercussions, and effects of climate change, as well as its economic, social, and environmental impacts on individuals, families, and communities.
Moreover, the session addressed the multifaceted impacts of climate change on women entrepreneurs, owners of small business or community service projects. It explained how women can play an effective role in facing climate change challenges and mitigating or adapting to its impacts by reducing natural resource consumption.
The session also discussed a number of innovative ideas, trends, and practices that can be applied through ICT tools and applications to help respond to climate change.
The awareness sessions, organized as part of Qodwa-Tech, are aimed at enhancing women’s role in mitigating the impacts of climate change and promoting a sustainable digital green economy and marketing among female entrepreneurs.
The sessions are organized within the framework of the Digital Path for Sustainable Green Recovery Initiative, which was launched by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) to raise awareness of the consequences of climate change and how they can be addressed.
The initiative involves holding sessions and workshops to educate people about climate change and engage individuals, especially women who are small business owners or entrepreneurs, in identifying, and responding to, climate change impacts that affect different aspects of life and threaten sustainable development.
