The 15th edition of Global Game Jam (GGJ), the world’s largest game-creation event, is organized on 30 January to 5 February 2023. The global theme will be revealed on January 28 or 29, depending on the time zone.
GGJ is aimed to empower individuals worldwide to learn, experiment, and create together through the medium of games. It is held annually, bringing together thousands of game developers from over 100 countries to create numerous video games in the span of 48 hours.
This year, GGJ Prep Week is precedent to the event as a new addition. The Prep Week will take place on January 23-27. It will feature an entire week’s worth of content hosted online.
Registration is due to open in October. Applicants and site organizers will have the flexibility to operate the jam site over 48 hours in the GGJ week.
