‘Post Contribution to Green Investments’ among COP 27 Agenda Topics

‘Post Contribution to Green Investments’

A session discussing “Post Contribution to Green Investments” is held on November 12, on the sidelines of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27). The session takes place at 01:00-03:00 PM at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) Pavilion in the Green Zone. The session will be streamed online via: https://zoom.us/j/92579880558.

Target audience includes investors, financial institutions, service providers, manufacturers, and funding agencies.

The session introduces Post for Investment (PFI), Egypt Post’s investment arm. In line with Egypt Post’s strategic orientation towards green economy and financial inclusion, PFI has embarked on an ambitious plan to integrate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors into its investments. ESG is a set of standards and frameworks that help investors make wise decisions regarding a potential investment's sustainability-related performance.

The session will highlight PFI efforts to make green investments, support zero emissions projects, promote carbon credit and trading schemes, and enhance its investment contribution to clean and green economy. In doing so, PFI targets partnering with specialized funds and startups in green projects, hydrogen projects, and activities that help achieve the company’s green objectives.

PFI is an Egyptian joint stock company established under Law no. 159 of 1981. The company’s goal is to raise Egypt Post’s value and enhance its profitability through leading its strategic development and digital transformation projects. Furthermore, PFI strives to endorse Egypt’s Vision 2030 of sustainable development to serve society through targeting proper investments while maintaining transparency and adhering to strict governance and internal control systems.

COP 27 is held on November 6-18 in the city of Sharm El-Sheikh, under the presidency of the Egyptian state. The Conference brings countries together to act towards achieving the world’s collective climate goals as agreed under the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
