The National Telecommunication Institute (NTI) organized a workshop titled “Autonomous Vehicles: Opportunities and Challenges” on December 15 at NTI premises in the Knowledge City in the New Administrative Capital. The workshop was live-streamed at Creativa Innovation Hubs.
The event was held under the auspices of the ICT Minister. Experts from NTI, the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), the National Academy of Information Technology for Persons with Disabilities (NAID), AWS, Valeo, SEITech Solutions and Avelabs joined the workshop. This is in addition to officials from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate and delegations from Sudan.
A number of students and graduates interested in autonomous cars and companies specializing in this field participated in the workshop. It highlighted the challenges and opportunities in the field of autonomous cars, the role of this technology in serving Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), and its impact on future jobs.
During the workshop, AWS showcased the latest AI advancements in autonomous cars. The company announced that it will organize a global competition to encourage young people to develop a self-driving car using the latest AI techniques.
Founded in 1983, NTI is an affiliate of MCIT. The Institute dedicates its resources to providing quality education and training services for telecommunication engineers and to preparing and implementing specialized training programs for young people.
