The Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) is hosting the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2022 Closing Ceremony and the Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) 2022 Egypt National Finals. The event is organized in collaboration with the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Egypt, on December 22, at Sultan Hussein Kamel Palace, Cairo.
During the ceremony, the winning start-up in the National Finals will be announced. It will represent Egypt at EWC 2022 Global Finals.
EWC was conceived by the Misk Global Forum in 2019. It is co-hosted by GEN and the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority “Monsha'at,” with support from a number of strategic partners.
EWC is one of the biggest and most diverse startup pitch competitions and support programs of its kind, featuring more than 370,000 entrepreneurs from over 200 countries and offering winners life-changing prizes. Since its launch, EWC has awarded $3 million in cash prizes, $150 million in in-kind prizes and provided opportunities for entrepreneurs at all levels – from idea stage to scale-up – to reach the next stage in their journey by providing them with free access to world class training and resources, enhancing their visibility, and working to connect them to mentors and investors.
It is worth noting that TIEC organized a new round of the InnovEgypt capacity-building program in November, within the framework of the Global Entrepreneurship Week. The Center works to drive innovation and entrepreneurship in the local industry. It supports young people who are passionate about ICT Innovation and aspire to be future entrepreneurs by providing entrepreneurial education and innovation recognition programs to build youth capacities and create a local innovation-based culture.
