The 15th edition of the Global Game Jam (GGJ) is organized on January 30 to February 5.
GGJ is the world’s largest game creation event bringing together tens of thousands of game developers from over 100 countries to create video games in the span of 48 hours.
The event is a game-focused hackathon and a space where talented individuals get together to work in a fun atmosphere of creativity and experimentation. It aims to instill team spirit and encourage people from different backgrounds to participate and contribute to this global spread of game development and innovation.
GGJ will include introductory talks on the game development industry, as well as advanced sessions on designing and developing digital games using some of the top game engines.
Global Game Jam is preceded by GGJ Prep Week on January 23-27. Sponsors and community members will be providing content on various platforms to get participants ready to jam.
For the last ten years, the Game Development Academy of the Information Technology Institute (ITI) has been hosting Global Game Jam Egypt, in collaboration with the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) - Egypt Chapter.
ITI organizes a wide variety of activities to boost the e-game development industry in Egypt. Activities include training courses, educational seminars, professional certificates, events, and competitions, with the aim is to build capacity, develop young people’s skills in e-game development, and create a pool of highly qualified game developers.
