MCIT Organizes New Training Event in Mansoura, Marking Safer Internet Day

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has organized a new training week for teachers and students in Mansoura City, continuing its activities in February within the framework of Digital Citizenship Initiative, to mark the Safer Internet Day.

A number of school teachers in Mansoura participated in the training. They were introduced to the basic skills of digital citizenship and Internet safety, then they educated students on those skills.

Concluding the training, a ceremony was organized where teachers and students delivered art performances, made presentations, and designed posters that reflected their perception of digital citizenship and online safety.

The training was carried out within the framework of MCIT strategy for promoting digital literacy safely and effectively among individuals, encouraging the positive use of technology for children and adolescents, enhancing online protection, and raising awareness of the dangers of the Internet.

MCIT launched the Digital Citizenship initiative to raise citizens’ awareness of the rights, responsibilities, and opportunities of living, learning, and working in an interconnected digital world in safe, legal, and ethical ways. Objectives of the initiative include providing knowledge and reliable content on digital citizenship concepts, skills, and inspirational models, and helping people apply digital citizenship skills through specialized training and online counseling services. The initiative also aims to increase local communities’ awareness of Internet dangers, introduce cybersecurity tools and protection and support channels, and establish national and international partnerships to exchange knowledge and expertise.
