The registration for Beaver Egypt Challenge 2023 has been extended to April 6 to provide an opportunity for the largest number of students to compete in the Challenge, and participate individually through the technology development centers established nationwide.
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), Ministry of Education and Technical Education, and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) are testing thousands of students nationwide via the “BeaverEgypt.org” platform to select the top 300 students to obtain a scholarship on C++ programming language and improve their problem-solving skills, during the summer vacation.
The Beaver Challenge is an international initiative aiming to promote informatics and computational and methodological thinking to problem-solving among school students. The Challenge is organized in over 60 countries and joined by three million participants, where each participant gets 45 minutes to answer 12 questions that focus on logical and systematic thinking and computing.
Top performers of school students will be qualified to participate in the Egyptian Olympiad in Informatics (EOI). EOI is a prominent competition in computer algorithms, programming and systematic approaches to problem-solving. The competition helped spot exceptional youth in ICT, most of whom received scholarships abroad, with some currently working in tech giants such as Facebook, Google, Microsoft, and others.
EOI is the flagship programming event targeting school students. Organized since 2003, it qualifies winners to join the national informatics team representing Egypt in the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) and other international events.
