Beaver Egypt Challenge 2023 Kicks off

Beaver Egypt Challenge 2023 will be held on March 5-23, under the auspices and supervision of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), implemented under the supervision of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT).
The Beaver Challenge is an international initiative aiming to promote informatics and computational thinking among school students. The Challenge is organized in over 50 countries and joined by three million participants, where each participant gets 45 minutes to answer 12 questions that focus on logical thinking and computing.
School students from the third primary to the third secondary stages can participate in Beaver Egypt Challenge. After completing the training, the students get the opportunity to participate in the contests qualifying for the Egyptian Olympiad in Informatics (EOI). A 45-hour scholarship will be provided to top performers of school students from the second and third preparatory stages to learn C++ programming language and improve their problem-solving skills, during the summer vacation.
The administration staff conducts the Challenge in schools’ computer labs; monitors the students during the contests; and ensures integrity of the Challenge. Moreover, MCIT will cover all costs of training, camps, accommodation, and travel to represent Egypt internationally. Furthermore, coordinators responsible for each school will be contacted to arrange and explain participation procedures in the Challenge, as well as clear and solve the hurdles that may occur during the Challenge.
EOI is the flagship programming event targeting school students. Organized since 2003, it qualifies winners to join the national informatics team representing Egypt in the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) and other international events.
