CREATIVA Innovation Hubs Host ODC-Top Up Acceleration Program

CREATIVA Innovation Hubs and the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) have hosted “Top Up Acceleration Program” closing ceremony at  Creativa Innovation Hub of Sultan Hussein Kamel Palace. The program has been launched in collaboration with Orange Digital Center (ODC), GIZ Egypt on behalf of the German Government, and Sprints.

The closing ceremony marks the successful completion of a series of classification, evaluation, and qualification phases for numerous companies that had previously applied to participate in the program. The program targeted startups in the financial services and retail trade sectors.

The “Top Up Acceleration” program, which consists of five phases over six months, received over 100 applications to join the program. These applications were evaluated and around 13 startups were selected to be prepared for the third and fourth phases through training and consultations to be qualified for the final phase. The startups along with major investors participated in the program to meet young people’s digital needs and develop their technological skills required to obtain decent job opportunities.

Furthermore, the fifth phase introduced the 13 growth-driven startups. These startups include Bonbell, NextEra, Florista, Payllion, Amwal, MrBstm, MammyApp, Zaha Home, Foorera, Kashati, Benefex, MacknMall, and ConyWorld.

During the event, entrepreneurs were able to present their projects to investors and attend various workshops, thus providing numerous opportunities for growth and investment.

In a similar vein, CREATIVA Innovation Hubs and ODC announced the renewal of their partnership to strengthen startups and entrepreneurs through business accelerators and upskill youth. Several activities will be implemented in digital and technological innovation, software development, and digital fabrication that will foster youth employability through building capacities and creating job opportunities. Additional activities include the participation of graduates of CREATIVA’s incubation programs in the existing startup accelerator of ODC.

ODC was co-established by Orange Egypt and GIZ as a state-of-the-art training hub for demand-driven digital education training in Egypt. It provides various training, coaching, and mentoring services through ODC programs: Coding School, the Orange Fab startup accelerator, and FabLab Solidaires, a digital production workshop for creating and prototyping with digital equipment.
