The Central Department of Digital Community Development at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has organized a training event for a week, in e-learning and digital citizenship, in cooperation with Aswan Governorate and a number of state agencies in Aswan.
MCIT and the Directorate of Education in Aswan co-organized awareness sessions in digital citizenship, cybersecurity, and online safety, targeting teachers. In addition, they carried out a training program in e-content creation with Articulate Storyline. Teachers at the Directorate of Education in Aswan attended the training.
The week was part of the efforts exerted to promote e-learning and its uses, and raise awareness of new jobs in this field. The aim was to create job opportunities for young people and foster the use of technology in education.
At the end of the training, the trainees earned certificates of completion in two tracks: digital citizenship, cybersecurity, and online safety; and e-content creation.
On the sidelines of the training, the supreme and executive committees of the 2021 MoU between MCIT and Aswan Governorate convened to discuss the MoU implementation progress and collaborate to develop the digital skills of citizens, especially youth, in Aswan. The meetings stressed the need to carry out more activities to bring about digital community development for citizens in Aswan, in line with MCIT human development and digital transformation plans. The meetings were attended by senior officials from MCIT, Aswan Governorate, the Digital Transformation for Sustainable Development in Egypt (DT4SDE) project, the E-Learning Competence Center (ELCC), Aswan University’s Information Center, members of the two committees, and cooperation coordinators from the two sides.
