The National Network for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Services “Taheel” has organized a session titled “Digital Transformation: Facilitating Access to Services”, in collaboration with the Services Center for Students with Disabilities at Fayoum University.
The session was held within the framework of the tripartite protocol signed earlier in January between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), the Ministry of Social Solidarity, and the Ministry of Manpower, regarding the National Network’s services.
The session delved into the efforts made by the ministries collaborating in supporting the training, rehabilitation, and recruitment of PwDs. It also discussed raising awareness of the basics and significance of digital transformation to facilitate PwDs’ access to services.
During the session, the Network services and how to register the Center’s services on the Network’s e-platform were presented. Furthermore, students with disabilities at Fayoum University were introduced to uploading their curriculum vitae (CVs) on the Network to join the labor market and search for available jobs and services provided by the concerned agencies and institutions.
Fayoum Governorate was the first governorate in which the Network’s services were launched to support PwDs, build their digital capabilities, and empower them to obtain decent job opportunities. The aim is to facilitate PwDs access to services and benefit from rehabilitation, training, and employment services provided by various agencies and institutions in Fayoum Governorate.
It is worth noting that the National Network for PWD Services has been launched to support the national efforts toward empowering and integrating PwDs through ICT, as part of the government plan to build the Egyptian citizen and achieve Digital Egypt strategy. It aims to make rehabilitation and training services available on a wide scale, thus creating more job opportunities. This is achieved through an online recruitment portal and mobile application that link PwDs, employers, and agencies providing training, rehabilitation, and employment services.
