Egypt Partakes in AI for Good Global Summit 2023

Egypt, represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), participated in the AI for Good Global Summit, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), on July 6-7 in Geneva, Switzerland.

The AI for Good Global Summit is the leading action-oriented UN platform promoting AI to advance health, climate, gender, inclusive prosperity, sustainable infrastructure, and other global development priorities. AI for Good is organized in partnership with 40 UN sister agencies and co-convened with the government of Switzerland.

This year’s Summit was held under the theme “Accelerating the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals”. The objectives of the Summit are to identify practical applications of AI, scale solutions for global impact, and accelerate progress towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Summit provided a platform for learning from AI luminaries, industry leaders, and UN partners on the AI for Good, Robotics for Good and SDG Stages; building collaboration efforts with the ‘AI for Good in Action’ and ‘Innovation Factory’ pitching sessions and the Discovery networking zone; and connecting with +3K in-person participants and +15K online members via the social events and matchmaking app.

ITU is the UN specialized agency for ICTs. Founded in 1865 to facilitate international connectivity in communications networks, ITU allocates global radio spectrum and satellite orbits, develops technical standards that ensure networks and technologies seamlessly interconnect, and strives to improve access to ICTs to underserved communities worldwide.
