MCIT Summer Training in Infrastructure, Cybersecurity Concludes

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has successfully concluded its summer training program, covering a diverse range of subjects, including infrastructure, wireless and VoIP, data centers, cybersecurity, and web development. The training, held from July 16 to August 10, was led by the Central Department of Information Systems and Digital Transformation.

The program was attended by 135 students enrolled in the second and third years of the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Communications, across 40 national universities. After passing a rigorous selection process, the trainees were selected from an initial pool of 300 applicants.

The training was aimed at enriching the trainees’ knowledge and preparing them for the labor market by introducing the essential skills for today’s labor market and in-demand jobs in the ICT sector. Trainees, through the program, had their skills honed in cutting-edge technologies, and they gained professional expertise and practical experience to keep up with the latest advancements in technology.

The program involved hands-on training on modern tools and equipment in the workplace to equip trainees with the skills needed to access the job marketplace. Weekly assessments gauged trainees' grasp of the training content, while instructors actively identified and tackled challenges faced by the participants.

Aligned with MCIT capacity-building strategy, and in line with the human development national vision, the program was organized to empower young people. Objectives of this strategy include empowering and qualifying young Egyptians to carry out Digital Egypt projects, creating better jobs, and improving youth competitiveness in regional and global markets.

MCIT is implementing its capacity-building strategy following a pyramid approach that starts with providing basic training to facilitate employment opportunities. Moving up the levels, MCIT offers more specialized programs to empower trainees to work in the ICT sector. More advanced courses are then provided, qualifying young people to specialize in modern technology domains.
