DECI Second Intake Registration Opens

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) is accepting applications for the second intake of Digital Egypt Cubs Initiative (DECI) for the academic year 2023-2024.

All applications are sent electronically only on the official website of the initiative (deci.gov.eg). Applicants must meet certain eligibility criteria, including being Egyptian, between the ages of 12 and 17, enrolled in a school in Egypt (public, private, experimental, or international), and have an office365.emis.gov.eg/ account (Azharite school students are excluded from this requirement).

Accepted students must upload several documents including: An automated birth certificate, an official student transcript for the academic year 2022/2023 accredited and signed from school or the Education Authority, a certificate of enrollment for the academic year 2022/2023 or 2023/2024, a copy of the parent’s (front and back) national ID, and the consent letter, available via the website, signed by the parent and including a 4 x 6 personal photo of the student (with white background).

The initiative aims to equip youngsters with IT skills, helping create young talents with proven competence in emerging technologies and fulfilling the national vision of keeping up with the sciences and requirements of the future labor market.

DECI is a program offered to top-performing students, from the first year of preparatory school to the second year of secondary school, in Egyptian schools nationwide. DECI targets upskilling top-performing students in Egyptian schools nationwide, in cooperation with national and international entities specializing in different fields of technology, covering scientific and educational aspects. It also includes activities that help develop soft and leadership skills.

DECI is part of MCIT capacity-building strategy implemented following a multilayered approach. The initiative complements other MCIT programs aimed at introducing young people to IT tools to keep up with the digital era.
