Egypt, represented by Egypt Post, has participated in the Postal Business Forum for CEOs/PMGs of Designated Operators and Directors General of Regulatory Authorities, organized by the Pan African Postal Union (PAPU) in Arusha, Tanzania.
The sessions of the Forum explored several significant and pertinent issues related to the future of postal services and the challenges worldwide. They also delved into reformulating the postal business model in light of achieving digital transformation, promoting innovation and diversity in the postal sector, and boosting the balance between services and products to foster the sustainability of postal work.
On the sidelines of the Forum, several bilateral meetings were held to discuss enhancing cooperation with Malawi Posts Corporation (MPC), Postal Corporation of Kenya (PCK), and the Société Congolaise des Postes et Télécommunications (SCPT). They were organized following the 41st Ordinary Session of the PAPU Administrative Council and expert teams in which Egypt Post had participated as the chief of the wages experts’ team and a team responsible for outlining proposals for the Universal Postal Union (UPU) Extraordinary Congress, due to be held in Saudi Arabia on October 1-5.
Egypt Post has also participated in the official ceremony of inaugurating PAPU Tower, Tanzania. The official ceremony of inauguration has been held on the sidelines of the 41st Ordinary Session of the PAPU Administrative Council. Its invitation to participate in inaugurating the new PAPU tower reflects its prominent and distinguished role in Africa, as evidenced by its effective participation in all PAPU meetings.
Egypt Post’ participation in this event comes within the framework of strengthening relations with PAPU and all its member countries. Marking this occasion, Egypt Post presented a “Pharaonic Salon” made in Egypt which was placed in PAPU Egypt’s Hall, reflecting the depth and interdependence of the relations between Egypt Post and PAPU.
It is worth noting that the construction of the new PAPU Tower project established in Arusha began in January 2020 and was completed in July 2023. The new 17-storey headquarters consists of two connected heights, while its basement consists of five floors.
