In collaboration with the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), 500 Global—a top VC firm—has announced the first batch of its Scale Up Program in Egypt.
Scale Up is a seven-week hybrid program targeting Egypt-based startups at Pre-Series A or Series A stages. The program contributes to accelerating the growth of the local startup scene and boosting innovation-based entrepreneurship by empowering startups to amplify their market presence and scale their business. Through personalized mentorship and growth-focused frameworks, the program helps small businesses to expand their customer base and streamline operations. Startups also have access to 500 Global’s exclusive network of investors, partners, and more.
Batch one of Scale Up Program consists of 15 startups specializing in different industries such as FinTech, marketing technology, real estate, logistics, and supply chain, among others. The companies are BirdNest, BLNK, Convertedin, Dresscode, FriendyCar, ILLA, Khazenly, MQR, Nowlun, NowPay, O7 Therapy, Orcas, Rology, Suplyd, and Sylndr.
The partnership between ITIDA and 500 Global is part of the efforts made to develop talent in the region even further and support local startups to achieve greater scale, expand in their respective regions, and bring their unique concepts and technologies to consumers and enterprises globally.
The program will conclude with the Scale Up Showcase on November 16 at Creativa Hub Innovation in Giza, celebrating the progress of founders and their companies. During the event, entrepreneurs will present their startup/product to a select group of industry stakeholders and founders during Demo Day.
The Scale Up Showcase will connect founders with a curated group of ecosystem stakeholders and partners who can support their scaling efforts. The event agenda will also feature presentations, talks by globally acclaimed speakers, and discussions for an audience of key industry stakeholders and ecosystem partners.
