The Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has concluded round 20 of the InnovEgypt program for Summer 2023.
The program ran for 13 weeks (from August to October) in 29 universities in different governorates, with more than 3,500 participants. InnovEgypt Summer 2023 featured 46 boot camps where students were introduced to the fundamentals and key concepts of entrepreneurship, design thinking skills and applications, idea design and presentation, persuasion skills, teamwork, research, exploration, and business model design, among other topics.
InnovEgypt is a capacity-building program for university students and graduates in innovation and entrepreneurship in ICT. The program targets young people who wish to become entrepreneurs, either by creating a startup or developing in-demand entrepreneurial skills. The program is divided into three modules: Innovation and Technology Management, where students receive training in the innovation process; Design Thinking, which provides an understanding of design thinking as a human-centric approach to innovation; and Entrepreneurship 101, a module that inspires students to thrive as successful entrepreneurs.
TIEC was established by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) in 2010. The Center’s mandate is to drive innovation and entrepreneurship in the local industry and ensure that both people and businesses benefit from ICTs, thus boosting the ICT sector’s growth, supporting sustainable development, and cementing Egypt’s position as a regional innovation hub.
