Opening, Inspection of MCIT Projects in Minya Governorate


The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat has visited Minya Governorate to open and inspect several projects of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT).

The ICT Minister inspected the Fiber to the Home (FTTH) project in Al Azhari Village in El-Adwah Town as part of a project carried out by Telecom Egypt to provide high-speed Internet in the villages targeted within the Decent Life initiative. He visited a family in Al Azhari Village where the FTTH project is being implemented, to check the Internet quality and speed.

Talaat also opened the historical Maghagha Main Post Office. It has been refurbished, developed, and equipped with advanced systems and technological solutions to deliver all types of governmental, postal, and financial services. He was received by the Chairperson of Egypt Post Sherif Farouk.

In a similar vein, the ICT Minister attended part of a digital and financial awareness session organized for citizens in Maghagha, Minya, within the framework of the Digital Decent Life initiative. The session was held under the theme “Digital Egypt: Towards a safe, productive, and sustainable interactive digital society” in the Maghagha Post Office area. It was attended by the Deputy ICT Minister for Institutional Development Ghada Labib, Egypt Post Chairperson, and officials from MCIT and Minya Governorate.

In a similar vein, the ICT Minister and the Governor of Minya Osama El-Qady met with entrepreneurs, freelancers, trainees, and graduates of MCIT capacity-building and innovation programs, at Creativa Innovation Hub in Minya. The meeting was attended by the President of Minia University Essam El-Din Farhat and officials from MCIT and Minya Governorate.

During the meeting, graduates of the programs offered by MCIT and its affiliated entities at Creativa Innovation Hub shared their experience in developing their skills by joining training programs within the Hub. In addition, two female entrepreneurs, owners of tech startups incubated at Creativa Innovation Hub in Minya, shared their success stories.

Following the meeting, Talaat and El-Qady inspected the labs at Creativa Innovation Hub in Minya to explore MCIT activities and training programs. The programs provide technical training, develop the technological skills of university students and graduates in Minya, prepare youth to meet the requirements of the local and global IT labor markets, and create an enabling environment for digital innovation and entrepreneurship.

Furthermore, the ICT Minister and the Governor of Minya opened Matay Post Office after being developed and equipped with the latest technological systems and solutions to deliver all types of government, postal, and financial services. They were received by Egypt Post Chairperson.

Concluding his visit to Minya, Talaat and El-Qady inspected the developed Telecom Egypt store in Minya telephone exchange, which provides integrated telecommunications services to customers.
