Egypt, represented by the Egyptian Computer Emergency Readiness Team (EG-CERT), will participate in AfricaCERT XII, held on May 21-27 in Nairobi, Kenya, under the theme “Internet Security and Vulnerability Disclosure”.
AfricaCERT aims to foster coordination and cooperation, and to promote information sharing among members and the security community. Participating in AfricaCERT enables Computer Security Incident Response Teams and alike organizations to more effectively respond to security incidents. AfricaCERT connects computer security incident response teams from government, commercial and educational organizations.
The Egyptian Computer Emergency Readiness Team (EG-CERT) was established by the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) in April 2009. Staffed by a team of 16 professionals, EG-CERT provides 24-hour support to protect critical information infrastructure. The team provides support to entities across the ICT, banking and government sectors, helping them address cybersecurity threats including Denial of Service attacks (DoS).
