Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Tarek Kamel, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Hani Helal and Minister of Education Dr. Yosri El Gamal witnessed on the 30th of June, 2009 the signing of a cooperation agreement between Egypt and United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The deal, signed during a celebration held at the Smart Village Conference Center in the presence of the UNESCO Director-General, aims at boosting cooperation between Egypt and UNESCO.
The agreement came within the spectrum of joint projects whose purpose is to raise the quality of educational services, whether on the level of pre-university or university education.
Meanwhile, the three ministers discussed, on the sidelines of the celebration, with the UNESCO Director-General the programs and projects carried out cooperatively between the Egyptian Government and the organization such as qualifying 1000,000 Egyptians to acquire the International Computer Driving License (ICDL).
The ICDL program is implemented in cooperation with Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Ministry of State for Administrative Development and Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
