Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Tarek Kamel has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the ICT field with Greek Minister of Transport and Communications Michael Liapis in the presence of Egypt''''s ambassador to Greece Mr. Hamdy Lozzah.

The cooperation agreement has been signed on the sidelines of the inaugural meeting of Internet Governance Forum (IGF) – held from Oct 30th to November 1st. The forum gathers 1200 international representative of governments, private sector companies and civil society organizations.

According to the signed agreement, the two sides will cooperate in the domains of fiber optics centers and operating international portals as well as working hand-in-hand in line with the European Union''s program of ICT in e-learning, skill development and research and development (R&D) through the Egyptian model of excellence centers, technology incubators and technology development funds.

The agreement also entails bilateral cooperation in the arena of SMEs working in the filed of ICT.
