Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Tarek Kamel witnessed today the signing of an agreement between the Information Technology Development Agency (ITIDA) and the HSBC Group on establishing the Bank's regional contact center at Egypt’s technology park, the Smart Village.
The new center will be divided into two separate operations; a client service center and a center for providing services related to banking cards for clients in the Middle East.
The investment volume of the new center is 195 million EGP. It is likely to offer 400 job opportunities as in its initial stage to be increased by 20-30 percent throughout the three-year agreement.
On its part, MCIT has offered HSBC a number of incentives which include: training for bank's staff and apecial international phone tariffs. These steps came in a bid to boost investments in the offshore outsourcing field as well as to attract further investments in this arena.
ITIDA Executive Chairman Eng. Mohamed Omran and HSBC Executive Operations Manager Mr. Ahmed Maher co-signed the agreement . HSBC Middle East CEO Mr. Caine Mathiason and HSBC Egypt CEO Mr. Abdel-Salam Anwar also witnessed the agreement signing.
