Egypt Wins Two Bronze Medals in the 24th International Olympiad in Italy


Egypt wins two bronze medals in the 24th International Olympiad held in Sirmione, Italy, from 23 to 30 September 2012.

The Egyptian team is formed of four members: Ziad Ahmed Auf, Youssef Mohamed Ibrahim, Omar Khaled Ibrahim and Hossam Sami Abdelraouf.

One of the team members winning a bronze medal is the youngest member participating to IOI for the first time.

Egypt won the first bronze in 2005 at Poland, the second bronze in Mexico, 2006.

In 2008, Egypt hosted the International contest and won a bronze medal.

In Bulgaria, Egypt pursued its success when its team harvested three bronze medals in 2009, as well as one silver medal and another bronze in Canada, 2010.

Thailand was the next stop for the IOI. In this year, 2011, Egypt won two silvers and one bronze medal, reaching a total number of 13 medals (3 silver and 10 bronze) throughout the Egyptian participation in the international contest.

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mr. Hany Mahmoud honors the winning team immediately after their return.
