ITIDA Signs Cooperation Protocols to Provide Managerial & Technical Support for 3 ICT CSOs

Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mr. Atef Helmy witnessed yesterday the signing of three one-year joint cooperation protocols by Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA).

Accordingly, ITIDA is to provide managerial and technical support for three civil society organizations (CSOs) working in ICT field.

According to articles of the agreements, ITIDA is to support and implement projects that market products of CSOs member companies, prepare them for local and international competition and promote their exports in international markets.

Moreover, ITIDA shall support programs aiming to include ICT companies in trade mission for targeted markets. The programs also include promotional local activities for industry in the various governorates of the country.

In this regard, Mr. Helmy underlines the significance of setting institutional frame through which CSOs, working in ICT sector, could operate. In the same time, he states that MCIT would provide its full support for those organizations being active members and an extension of ICT sector.

Mr. Helmy notes that ICT sector is able to increase growth rates through its elements notwithstanding the great challenges ahead. He adds, “We build on the achievements of our predecessors and we have fresh ideas that will soon be activated in the form of new projects serving all parties and in the interest of all people.”

For his part, ITIDA’s CEO, Mr. Yasser El-Kady says that the projects to be implemented through the cooperation protocols are designed to develop local demand, targeting ICT companies that benefited from support programs provided by ITIDA.

These programs target manufacturing industry that uses most of the developed applications in all its specialties, as well as traditional applications such as time management, human resource management, accounting and sale and customer relations management.

NGOs support program comes in line with MCIT and ITIDA’s policy to support entities working in ICT field, thus finding a strong partner to open up new prospects for ICT companies, enhance competitive capability for the Egyptian product and increase Egyptian companies export rates.

Additionally, it helps create new markets and opportunities locally and internationally, raises local demand for Egyptian products and improves staff efficiency in ICT field in both NGOs and/or member companies.

The protocols were signed by Mr. Yasser El-Kady representing ITIDA, Mr. Khalil Hassan Khali, the head of Computer and Software Department at the Federation of Egyptian Chamber of Commerce,  Mr. Hossam Elgamal, Board Member & SW Division Chair at Eitesal Association and Mr. Hesham Sanad,  the Chairman of the Chamber of ICT Industry.
