National PPP Projects in ICT to Announce Soon


During a meeting with  October 6 Rotary club members presided by Alaa Kora in Smart Village, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Atef Helmy has announced that the government would shortly reveal a bundle of national projects in partnership between the public and private sectors and the civil society in the ICT sector with a budget of 3 billion EGP.

A number of 27 new buildings in Maadi Technology Park are to be  proposed in partnership with the public and private sectors. This is in addition to automating registry offices affiliated to the Ministry of Justice with a budget of 650 million EGP.

According to Helmy, the groundwork for the pilot project of traffic services collection initiative using new technologies in the area of Nozha would be finalized during the upcoming weeks, allowing the renewal of licenses and payment of traffic fines. Once proved its success, the project would be generalized in other sectors, leading to the expansion of the e-payment network.

The ICT Minister underlined the significance of utilizing IT in serving other sectors and make services easier for citizens.

At the end of the meeting, Helmy  highlighted the youth’s role as a main pillar of the ICT sector, being able to perform, develop and innovate. He also expressed MCIT keenness to develop and qualify specialized calibers to fulfill market needs.
