The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Atef Helmy met with officials of Hawaii Companies, Oracle and Sutherland where they discussed increasing investment in technology applications and outsourcing.
They also conferred strengthening their presence in Egypt during the coming period as the government is ready to provide a suitable climate for investors, qualifying the country to be an attractive place for investment and a promising ICT market.
Helmy carried out his activities meeting with the Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) Mohamed N. Al Ghanim where they discussed means of mutual cooperation, the latest in technology and unifying ICT vision.
Moreover, the ICT minister met with officials of Dubai Smart Government where they conferred means of joint cooperation in the fields of smart governments and availing of the Emirati experience in IT best use to provide government services for citizens through various e-channels, thus facilitating procedures.
Helmy underlined the fact that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) strategy aims-at present-to disseminate e-government services and improve their quality for the benefit of citizens.
Additionally, the ICT minister met with officials in Red Hat specialized in open source where they discussed means of mutual cooperation as open source applications aim at delivering knowledge to all citizens at the lowest cost, improving transparency, supporting the sector’s growth and promoting the competitive environment for the benefit of the user.
