ICT Minister, Italian Ambassador Discuss Promoting ICT Investment

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology has received the Italian Ambassador to Egypt Maurizio Massari in his office at Smart Village, pursuing President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi visit to Italy during November 24-25 November 2014, and preparing for taking part in the Economic Summit  scheduled to hold in Sharm el-Sheikh during 13-15 March 2015.

During the meeting, Helmy and Massari reviewed key priorities of the ICT sector represented in developing and modernizing the infrastructure and its main pillars in the fields of broadband technology, cloud computing, software industry and human resources development-particularly in outsourcing. This is in addition to establishing a number of technology cities in various governorates across the country.

After the meeting, Massari has said the Italian party is to organize a visit of 100 Italian companies—representing the private sector—to Egypt during 22- 24 February. The visit is in line with preparing for the Economic Summit scheduled for March.

Currently, coordination is underway on the visit which aims to deliberate increasing Italian investments in Egypt—in fields discussed with Egypt ICT minister—to  reach a successful plan for the mutual benefit of the two countries, he has added.
