The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat headed, yesterday, to China, heading a high level delegation, to participate in BRICS Future Network Innovation Forum.
On the sidelines of the forum, Talaat is due to meet with a number of senior officials and ministers participating in the forum, to discuss enhancing cooperation and sharing views on a number of topics of common interest. This is in addition to meeting with representatives of major Chinese ICT companies to discuss boosting new investments in the Egyptian market.
The ICT Minister had met with Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang, in Cairo, where they discussed enhancing cooperation in ICTs, and Egypt’s participation in BRICS Future Network Innovation Forum, hosted in China, on August 5-9. This is in addition to discussing the arrangements for the meetings that the ICT Minister will hold with government officials and representatives of ICT companies in China.
BRICS is the association of five countries: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. They are important markets and exporters of ICT products. The decision to hold an ICT forum for BRICS countries aims at sharing ideas, best practices and capacity building in the ICT sector.
