The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat, during his visit to China heading a high level delegation to participate in BRICS Future Network Innovation Forum, has met with the Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Houlin Zhao.
They discussed means of cooperation between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and ITU, sharing views on a number of topics related to telecommunications regulatory policies and the major global developments in this area.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the arrangements of hosting the World Radiocommunication Conference 2019 (WRC-19) in Sharm El Sheikh in October, with over 3500 participants.
In pursuit of promoting electronics design and manufacture in Egypt, the ICT Minister met with President of CVTE group Kyle Lee. CVTE specializes in designing and manufacturing intelligent systems in various sectors such as health, education and providing integrated solutions using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT).
They discussed the privileges and facilities that Egypt offers to investors, and establishing a factory for CVTE in Egypt to manufacture smart screens used in education. In addition, they discussed cooperation in research and development (R&D) in Egypt to transfer expertise to Egyptian youth.
Moreover, Talaat met with officials from Nationstar, specializing in Light-Emitting Diode (LED) energy saving systems applications. They discussed the key privileges offered to investors in Egypt, and establishing a factory for the company in Egypt to transfer advanced technology in energy saving lighting.
