Having sworn in before President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Yasser ElKady has announced the priorities of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) over the next phase, to ensure the development required inside the ICT sector.
ElKady emphasized on the need to raise the level of ICT services provided to citizens and on maximizing the use of public state-owned assets in the sector, in addition to maintaining stability of the ICT sector.
The ICT minister said that full attention will be paid to design programs for empowering youth and developing activities of innovation and entrepreneurship, in addition to accelerating implanting technology in all sectors of the state.
ElKady ascertained the ICT role in promoting the Egyptian economy and achieving desired economic development. He pointed out that the sector will, in the coming period, provide all the necessary facilities to attract new investments and complete the work of technological projects, while seeking to increase IT exports.
He also added that in the framework of the State’s preparations to complete its constitutional entitlements, the ICT sector will follow-up and complete its role in providing technical and technological support services required for the forthcoming parliamentary elections, in coordination with the Supreme Electoral Commission.
