ICT Minister Heads to France to Discuss Cooperation in ICTs with French Government Officials, Major Int’l Companies


The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat headed, today, to Paris, leading a high level delegation, in an official visit to France on September 22-25. The aim is to enhance and develop cooperation between the two countries in ICTs, particularly capacity building and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The ICT Minister is due to meet with French ministers and government officials, in addition to holding meetings with universities officials and academics to discuss a number of topics of common interest, as well as enhancing cooperation in ICTs, especially AI.

This reflects the keenness on exchanging different experiences, as part of the national strategy for AI, through which Egypt aims to adopt AI technologies and implant them in various areas, with creating a base of specialized calibers in this field.

Moreover, the visit will include a number of meetings with representatives of major French ICT companies to discuss infusing new investments in the Egyptian market.

In addition, Talaat is due to meet CEO of Medef International Philippe Gautier, in the presence of a number of Medef affiliated companies’ representatives, with the aim to discuss potential investment opportunities in the Egyptian ICT sector.
