During Visiting France, ICT Minister Holds Meetings to Enhance Egyptian-French Cooperation in Digital, AI Skills Development


The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat has held a series of meetings during his visit to France heading, a high level delegation, to discuss enhancing Egyptian-French cooperation in ICTs, particularly in developing digital skills and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies.

Talaat met with Pierre Biscourp, Director of the Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l'Administration Economique (ENSAE) Paris specializing in training and research. They discussed ENSAE major programs, especially in data science, as well as the possibility of establishing academic partnership to provide training courses for Egyptian youth in AI.

In addition, the ICT Minister met with officials of Ada Health, a company oriented towards developing healthcare services using AI. The two sides followed up on the discussions held last June during Talaat’s visit to Germany, where they discussed the areas of joint cooperation in Research and Development (R&D) in terms of healthcare, and the proposed work projects in Egypt.

Relevantly, the ICT Minister and the accompanying delegation visited Orange center for technological innovation, which specializes in developing innovative products for Orange group in various areas, including mobile phone applications and Internet of Things (IoT). During the tour, Talaat explored the center’s activities in R&D and innovation, in addition to its projects in AI and smart cities.

The meetings were attended by the CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) Hala El Gohary, the Associate Minister for Networks and ICT Infrastructure Hossam El-Gamal, the ICT Minister’s Advisor for AI Golestan Radwan, and a number of MCIT officials.
