Sustainable Development in Remote Areas Conference 'Technologically Empowered Communities – Nub@'


Egypt Information and Communication Technology Trust Fund (ICT-TF), jointly established by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the United Nations Development Program UNDP, will organize the Sustainable Development in Remote Areas Conference "'Technologically Empowered  Communities – Nub@" holds on March 31, at the Conference Center, Smart Village, in cooperation with the UNDP and under the auspices of the ICT Minister Yasser ElKady.

The Conference aims to review the methodology and success stories of the integrated development project using ICTs in Nuba, implemented by ICT-TF as an integrated development model for a technology-enabled community.

The Conference is within the framework of MCIT strategy, UN sustainable development goals and Egypt's strategy 2030. MCIT plays a significant role in improving Egyptian citizens’ standards of living especially in remote areas.

It exerts efforts to shift towards a society based on knowledge economy through activating technology in different developmental pivots including health, education, women empowerment, developing and supporting civil society organizations, encouraging small enterprises and entrepreneurs and supporting persons with disabilities.
