The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat has met with the Tanzanian Deputy Minister for Works, Transport and Communication Atashasta Nditiye, where they discussed enhancing cooperation between Egypt and Tanzania in ICTs.
This comes in line with Egypt’s keenness to enhance cooperation and strengthen ties with African countries, in the framework of the Egyptian initiative for cooperation with African countries in digital transformation.
The meeting is part of the Tanzanian delegation’s visit to Egypt to participate in the World Radiocommunication Conference 2019 (WRC-19) hosted in Sharm El Sheikh.
The two sides discussed their countries’ interest in enhancing cooperation in Africa and opening new avenues of bilateral cooperation, as well as the Tanzanian’s side keenness on leveraging Egypt’s experience in designing and manufacturing electronics.
This is in addition to promoting cooperation between Egypt and Tanzania in building digital capacities and leveraging the African App Launchpad (AAL) presidential initiative.
Moreover, Nditiye invited the ICT Minister to visit Tanzania.
In 2015, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) organized a training course for 14 Tanzanian trainees on cybersecurity and how to manage national Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) to raise the efficacy of human calibers in Tanzania at the national level at large.
