Wasel contact center for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), established by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), has won the CIO100 Award, granted for innovative pioneering projects in the Middle East. The Advisor to the Minister for Social Responsibility and Services Abeer Shakweer received the award during the 12th edition of the annual ceremony, organized by CPI Media Group, in Dubai.
On this occasion, Shakweer stated that the Center is one of a kind in the Arab region, the Middle East and Africa. It provides full technological solutions and serves as a contact center enabling the access of people with hearing and speech impairments to emergency, ambulance, firefighting and other services, she added.
Shakweer also said that the Center deserved to win the award as it demonstrated excellence in two main areas: technological innovation that reflects the use of IT, innovatively, and enabling new innovative ways to deliver business internally or externally. This is in addition to the business value added that reflects the positive, measurable impact that the project has had on the organization's business results.
The CIO100 Awards celebrate 100 organizations and their teams that use IT in innovative ways to deliver business value, whether by creating competitive advantage, optimizing business processes, enabling growth, improving relationships with customers and suppliers or achieving business digital transformation.
