The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has launched an e-learning platform, in collaboration with ICDL Arabia, with the aim to introduce the different segments of society, nationwide, to digital literacy, safely and effectively.
This comes within the framework of MCIT strategy for contributing to implementing the state’s plan for building the Egyptian citizen, and for keeping abreast of the current developments.
The ICT Minister Amr Talaat underlined that e-learning is a trend in which MCIT invests, promotes and adopts. MCIT provides citizens with digital training opportunities, so they can gain experience and acquire different technological skills, Talaat added.
The ICT Minister also said that MCIT provides special opportunities for learning and developing self-employment. He called on the Egyptians to seize the opportunities that the state provides for introducing digital literacy and e-learning, using digital platforms, to acquire new skills and keep learning.
The new platform programs are tailored to empower social media influencers and Internet users to use Internet safely, deal with cyberbullying and use online search engines effectively. The programs are available for free, and are provided through interactive educational material bundles. Trainees get to receive a certificate by ICDL Foundation, once they pass the qualifying tests.
