Justice, ICT Ministers Witness Signing Cooperation Protocol for Developing Litigation System


The Minister of Justice Omar Marwan and the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat have witnessed, through videoconference, the signing of a cooperation protocol between the two ministries.

This comes within the framework of the state’s plan for achieving the digital transformation, in general, and developing the litigation system, in particular.

Marwan stated that the protocol enhances the productive cooperation between the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT). It aims to fulfill the vision of the state and the Ministry of Justice, pertaining to achieving complete justice, facilitating litigation through automating work at the Ministry of Justice and courts, and linking them with different state agencies.

The aim is to raise the efficiency and boost the capacity of the judicial system, and provide performance evaluation and monitoring tools in a way that helps improve the judicial and administrative work and save time and effort for the parties to the litigation process, he added.

For his part, the ICT Minister said that signing the protocol comes in light of the close cooperation between the two ministries, for achieving Digital Egypt Justice. The protocol comprises a number of projects that will be implemented for using ICT to develop the internal work system at the Ministry of Justice and its different sectors, and link it with other bodies and agencies, thus contributing to developing the judicial and administrative work system, and rendering excellent services to citizens, Talaat added.

The protocol includes developing a strategic plan for the digital justice initiative, with the aim to build a unified litigation system and automate work at courts, the sectors of the Ministry of Justice and its affiliated organizations. This will help facilitate and govern litigation and boost the work environment.

In addition, the protocol involves developing communication channels for the Ministry of Justice, through updating the Ministry’s digital portal, boosting its efficacy, creating an interactive platform for data exchange, and implementing the projects of the unified archiving of cases and documents, thus promoting building a modern information society.

The protocol was signed by the Assistant Minister of Justice for the Technical Development Sector and the Judicial Information Center Tarek Kamel, and the Deputy ICT Minister for Administrative Development, Digital Transformation and Automation Khaled El Attar.
