The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat has met with the board of directors of Silicon Waha company to discuss its future plans and achievements during the last period.

Talaat commended the company's revenue growth by 30% for the third year in a row, and the private sector’s increased occupancy rates in Technology Parks over the last two years, an indicator to Silicon Waha’s success and great appeal to investors and private companies.

The ICT Minister stated that the board of directors, chaired by Adel Danish, comprises experienced and high-caliber members. He thanked them for the efforts exerted in two years, which yielded promising results despite the COVID-19 challenges faced last year.

Moreover, the ICT Minister said that the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) plans to train young people on call center skills, especially in Upper Egypt, Beni Suef and Assiut Governorates. He stressed the significance of training and qualifying young people to find decent jobs, which will contribute to providing the digital skills required by companies, and will have a positive impact on occupancy rates in Technology Parks.

Talaat explored the company’s plans for deploying the co-working space and virtual office business model on a wider scale in Technology Parks in different governorates. The model is expected to provide practical solutions for addressing the COVID-19 associated challenges and difficulties facing companies.

Silicon Waha CEO Sameh El Mallah gave a presentation on the company’s future plans and achievements in the last two years. He highlighted that Technology Parks created 7,000 jobs, with Silicon Waha now incubating entrepreneurs and innovators. The company’s work plan involves cooperating with university student unions and establishing strategic partnerships with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) with the aim to hone young people’s skills, according to the needs of the labor market.
