The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat started his visit to Kafr El Sheikh Governorate, this morning, with a meeting with the Governor of Kafr El Sheikh Gamal Nour El Din, in the presence of the President of Kafr El sheikh University Abdel Razek Desouky, a number of senior officials at the governorate’s general office, and a number of Parliament members from Kafr El Sheikh governorate.
During the meeting, Talaat ascertained that a digital training and innovation center will be established in Kafr El Sheikh, with investments of EGP 100 million to provide technical training and implement programs for digital innovation and entrepreneurship for young people. During the current year, a number of 50 post offices in the governorate will be developed and two mobile offices will be provided to serve crowded areas, in addition to installing 40 ATMs.
He added that within the framework of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) participation in the Decent Life Initiative for Villages Development, the efficiency of the information infrastructure of Motobas Center will be raised and equipped with fiber-optic cables to improve the efficiency of the Internet in every home in the villages of the center.
The ICT Minister and the Governor also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between MCIT and Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, with the aim of empowering women using technology, providing e-learning culture, building knowledge societies, and supporting and developing digital capabilities and skills for youth in the governorate.
The two-year MoU includes raising awareness of 1000 women and girls about financial inclusion and Internet safety, empowering 500 women and girls on the basics of inclusiveness and financial independence, by introducing the services provided by government agencies in this regard, and contributing to opening bank accounts according to their needs in Egypt Post or any of the Egyptian banks. This is in addition to empowering knowledge pioneers and female entrepreneurs with ICT skills to support their skills in the field of e-marketing for 50 knowledge pioneers and entrepreneurs, and developing a number of websites and e-marketing pages on social networks.
The MoU also entails cooperation in supporting and qualifying youth with technological skills, coping with the needs of the freelance market and new mechanisms for support, guidance and follow-up, in cooperation with government and civil institutions and leading global and national private sector companies. Cooperation will also include disseminating the culture of e-learning and supporting its industry by encouraging civil society organizations, institutions and entities concerned with community development to promote and disseminate the culture of e-learning, train human calibers working in the e-learning industry and develop the skills of its employees by adopting e-learning centers, through Cisco Networking Academy program. This is in addition to training students, graduates, and faculty of Kafr El-Sheikh University on content production programs.
The MoU also includes the use of the services and applications of Kenanaonline platform in building knowledge societies online, in cooperation with governmental, civil and private institutions as well as experts in all areas of development for all segments of society within the governorate. It aims to create and develop the governorate portal for comprehensive development to include several sub-sites for the general office of the governorate, and develop civil society databases and websites for civil society institutions projects and initiatives in the governorate.
The MoU was signed by MCIT- Head of the Central Department for Community Development Hoda Dahroug, and the Deputy Governor of Kafr El-Sheikh Amr Al-Bishbishi.
In addition, the ICT Minister, the Governor of Kafr El Sheikh and the Deputy Governor of Kafr El Sheikh inspected the monitoring system in the crisis room, which covered Kafr El Sheikh with cameras, to monitor the streets to provide excellent services to citizens, and witness the incident the moment it occurred and contain it immediately in coordination with relevant agencies.
The ICT Minister, during his visit, is due to witness the opening of two post offices after their development, inspect the School of Intellectual Education, and visit the customer service center developed for Telecom Egypt in Kafr El Sheikh Central. This is in addition to holding a video conference with a number of beneficiaries of the training programs and services provided by MCIT to the governorate’s youth.
