During his visit to Aswan to open and inspect ICT and post projects, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat, accompanied by Aswan Governor Ashraf Attia, has inaugurated Telecom Egypt customer service center, which was developed to provide telecommunication services to Aswan residents and Arab and foreign visitors and tourists. The ICT Minister was received by Telecom Egypt CEO and Managing Director Adel Hamed, and a number of the Company executives.
The Center provides contracting services on fixed and mobile phone lines, Internet and technical support services, bill payment and other services. The Center was developed to include 10 advanced customer service outlets, staffed by a group of trained and qualified young people to provide high quality services. The Center serves around 250,000 people from Aswan, 26 villages, and 118 districts, neighborhoods and hamlets, in addition to Arab and foreign visitors and tourists.
Following the opening, Talaat had an inspection tour inside the Center to monitor the progress of work and the nature of the new services offered to customers.
Moreover, Talaat and Attia opened Mahmoudia Post Office after being developed and equipped with the latest technological systems and solutions to provide a wide range of integrated financial, postal and social services to citizens. Talaat and Attia were received by the Acting Chairman of the Egyptian National Post Organization (ENPO) Abdo Elwan, on behalf of Chairman Sherif Farouk, who is attending the Universal Postal Congress in Abidjan.
The Post Office serves about 10,000 citizens, providing different postal services. It also has an ATM to facilitate people’s access to services.
It is worth mentioning that Talaat visited Aswan Governorate General Bureau this morning. He witnessed the signing of agreements between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and Aswan Governorate to build people’s digital capabilities and develop the information infrastructure in the Aswan villages targeted within the first phase of Haya Karima initiative.
