ICT Minister Meets DEY Graduates


The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat has met with about 200 young men and women, graduates of the Digital Egypt Youth (DEY) initiative in the field of communications and information networks. Those young people are candidates for work and practical training in the projects currently implemented in the New Administrative Capital within the framework of the directives of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

This came within the framework of cooperation between the Armed Forces Information Systems Institute and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), represented by the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI), which implements the DEY Initiative.

At the beginning of the meeting, Talaat ascertained that this meeting, with its distinguished participants of young people, represents the vision of MCIT strategy to build digital capabilities. The strategy aims to prepare a promising generation supported by scientific and practical experiences and provide them with the necessary skills to prepare them for future professions and qualify them to obtain atypical job opportunities in the technological fields in line with the requirements of the local market and the availability of a large number of national projects currently implemented. He encouraged young people to take advantage of this opportunity, whether for work or practical training, to hone their expertise and develop their professional path.

NTI Director Iman Ashour stated that the Institute is implementing the DEY Initiative, which aims to train 8000 young people annually on the latest global technologies in the areas of digital transformation to qualify them for the labor market. At the end of the program, the trainees obtain academic certificates accredited by major international companies in the field of communication and information technology. The participation of 200 graduates of NTI in this giant national project is within the framework of continuous cooperation between MCIT and the Armed Forces Information Systems Institute to promote the sense of belonging among young people towards major projects in the country.
