Egypt Post Issues Stamp on Occasion of EUI Establishment

The Egyptian National Post Organization (ENPO) has issued a commemorative postage stamp on the occasion of the establishment of Egypt University of Informatics (EUI). It is a civil university founded by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, at the Knowledge City in the New Administrative Capital.

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat said that the stamp is aimed at commemorating EUI which represents a leading educational edifice concerned with fostering technological innovation and a key step towards building digital Egypt. He explained that EUI targets creating a skill pool in informatics and different ICT domains shaping the future, such as digital transformation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), data engineering, the Fourth Industrial Revolution, electronics industry, fintech, and data analysis.

Talaat underlined that EUI is keen to establish partnerships with major international universities to offer students scientific, research, and applied services in line with the latest technologies, global standards, and Egyptian quality and accreditation criteria.

For his part, ENPO Chairman Sherif Farouk referred to EUI as a beacon that contributes to building an ICT-specialized community and as a basis for creating an enabling environment for creativity and innovation for university students. He added that EUI targets upskilling and qualifying young people to work in local and global markets, especially with the heightened demand for skilled manpower in the tech field. ENPO was, therefore, quick to issue a commemorative postage stamp to document this major event.

Moreover, Farouk highlighted that commemorative stamps are a means of cultural communication between different countries and peoples of the world, and Egypt Post is always keen to issue stamps and cards to commemorate important events and occasions.

The 3x5cm stamp is for EGP 5. It was created using multicolor offset printing and anti-counterfeiting technology. The stamp features a QR code to create a rich, interactive experience, enabling collectors to learn about the occasion in a creative and appealing way.

It is worth mentioning that the EUI Board of Trustees was formed under the chairmanship of the Former President of the Republic Adly Mansour.

The University boasts four faculties: the Faculty of Computing and Information Sciences, the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Business Informatics, and the Faculty of Digital Arts and Design. EUI started operating with the current academic year.

EUI established partnerships with Purdue University, West Lafayette, and the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and is in negotiations with other international universities specializing in the academic disciplines offered at EUI.

EUI offers world-class education and enables students to spend their last academic year at one of the partner international universities.
