ICT Minister Heads to Dubai to Participate in GMIS 2021


The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat headed today to Dubai, UAE to participate in the fourth edition of the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS) 2021 on behalf of Prime Minster Mostafa Madbouly.

The summit will bring together more than 200 speakers, government officials and industry and technology leaders, to discuss the future of the industrial sector and explore investment opportunities in technology, innovation and manufacturing.

GMIS is a joint initiative between the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology in the UAE and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). Held under the theme “Rewiring Societies: Repurposing Digitalisation for Prosperity,” the summit will address the importance of adopting digital technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud computing, and highlight the promotion of integration between humans and machines.

On the sidelines of the summit, a wide range of events, panel discussions, interactive sessions, youth-focused activities and others related to GMIS initiatives such as Mohammed Bin Rashid Initiative for Global Prosperity, will be held.

The summit will also feature the first technology-based industrial exhibition in the UAE. The week-long exhibition will showcase the latest innovations and solutions in technology and industry.
